A relaxed mix of guided business walks and discussion-led talks that help people step back, think more clearly, and see their work through the customer’s eyes.

What is Biz Talks & Walks?

Biz Talks & Walks brings people together to step outside their usual workplace, think more clearly, and connect through relaxed walking conversations and practical talks. It’s open to anyone in business or work — whatever your role — who wants space to think, meaningful conversation, and a healthier alternative to traditional networking.

A key thread running through every walk or talk session is the customer lens — helping you reflect on how everyday decisions are experienced by customers, and how clearer, customer focused thinking can lead to better business outcomes.

Why the Customer Lens Matters
Every business decision is a customer decision — whether we realise it or not. From systems and processes to communication and everyday choices, what happens internally is always experienced externally.

Clarity comes when we step out of our own roles and into the customer’s world, noticing what they see, feel, and have to navigate.

The businesses that last are the ones that stay close to their customers, make decisions with real people in mind, and use perspective — not just data — to guide their thinking. That’s why Biz Talks & Walks is built around the customer lens.

How it works

Walk it. Think on it. Talk it through.

Each month there’s one Biz Walk and one Biz Talk.


Wednesdays are for walks (usually the second or third Wednesday of the month), and talks take place two weeks later on a Tuesday — Tuesday Talks, Wednesday Walks.

​

The Biz Walk introduces the monthly theme in a relaxed, informal way through walking conversation. The Biz Talk later in the month offers space to explore the same theme in more depth through discussion online. See below for a list of the planned themes for 2026.

Biz Walks

Biz walks are relaxed, walking conversations designed to help you step away from your desk, get some fresh air, and see your work more clearly through the customer lens.

Each month, the Biz Walk introduces the theme in a gentle, informal way. There’s no pressure to stay on the topic — some people talk business, some talk life, and some simply enjoy the walk and the company.

​

Biz Walks are not traditional networking events. They’re a healthier, more human way to think about business and connect with others.

 

What you’ll get from Biz Walks

  • Space for clearer thinking
    Stepping outside, getting some fresh air and walking creates space to think more clearly — especially when day-to-day work leaves little room for reflection.

    Walking side by side makes it easier to talk openly and think out loud. Conversations feel more relaxed, more human, and less forced than sitting around a table.

  • Connection without networking pressure
    There are no pitches, presentations, or forced introductions. You’ll meet people from local businesses in a very informal way, allowing relationships to develop naturally.

  • Learning beyond the desk
    Spending time with people outside your usual workplace gives you the chance to learn how others approach their work, compare ways of doing things, and gain new insight.

  • A healthier way to do business
    Biz Walks combine thinking time with gentle movement, helping you step away from screens, boost energy, and return to work feeling clearer and more focused.

Biz Talks

Biz Talks are a discussion-led session designed to explore the monthly theme in more depth and think more clearly about everyday business decisions through the customer lens.
 

Rather than a presentation, the session is structured around shared conversation, reflection, and insight.

You’ll leave with clearer thinking, renewed focus, and ideas you can apply in your work.

Who is this for?
Biz Walks & Talks is for anybody who makes decisions that affect customers, including:

- Business owners and founders
- Marketing, finance, operations and customer teams
- Freelancers, consultants and professionals
- People early in their career through to senior leaders

You don’t need a job title that says “customer” — if your work impacts customers (directly or indirectly) and most do, you’re welcome.
