Data Protection & Privacy Policy

This policy sets out how I collect, use and store your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) from 25th May 2018.  Magnify & Grow Business Consulting Ltd acts as a Data Controller for the purposes of the DPA & GDPR (registration ref: ZA355718).

How do I use your data?
I use your personal and business data in the following ways:
-    to make contact with you
-    to carry out agreed services
-    to invoice you for payment
-    to send you updates and newsletters where you have agreed to receive them


How do I collect your data?
When you sign up to my ‘Business blog, tips and tools’ or complete the enquiry form online or if you call with an enquiry certain details are collected from you to enable me to deal with the enquiry or arrange your initial consultation.  I may also collect details from you in other ways, for example, if you communicate with me via my social media accounts, enter a competition or reply to a specific promotion.

How do I keep your data secure?
Although I will do my best to protect your data once it is received I cannot guarantee the security of data whilst you send it to me. Password protection is used for all computers, computer software, tablets and other such technology that I use. Payment is made via BACS and therefore your payment details are not stored by me.


If you provide me with any physical paperwork that contains personal or sensitive data that is not available in the public domain, I will ensure it is kept in a locked file.


What if you want to change the data that is held?

How can you withdraw consent for me to hold and process your records?

How can you raise a complaint?  
In the unlikely event you should have a complaint regarding your data, please contact me straight away and I will work with you to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction.  If you are still not happy, you have the right to contact the Information Commissioner’s Office.  


How do you opt in/out of receiving information?
If you provide me with your details for the purpose of making an enquiry, booking a consultation or receiving a service, I will also ask if you are happy for me to contact you via post, email, phone or text message with information such as new services and special offers. If you consent to receive general marketing information but later change your mind, you can opt out by contacting me. You can also click ‘unsubscribe’ at the bottom of any emails and I will then update your account preferences.

 

Will your data be passed onto third parties?
I will not pass your data on to any third party unless in the very unlikely event that legal proceedings should require me to do so in which case I will have a duty to comply with the law.

What do you need to know about Cookies?
A cookie is a text file containing small amounts of data that is stored on your device (e.g. computer, tablet or mobile phone) when you visit certain websites.  Cookies are used by this site and almost all websites to give visitors the best, most personalized user experience.

I also use Google Analytics, a very commonly used website statistics service, to gather information about the traffic to my site and to measure conversions and sales. Cookies generate information about visitors’ behaviour (but cannot identify you personally) and this is collected by Google and in turn used by me to understand my visitor’s use of the site.

 

From time to time I may use other third parties that also use Cookies to help me analyse the use of my website and continuously improve it to meet client’s needs.
